Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute: an international research center which has references and articles on family violence and sexual abuse, conferences, treatment programs. The National Children's Advocacy Center: provides prevention, intervention and treatment services for physically and sexually abused children and their families. Sponsors training and conferences for professionals dealing with abused children.

Dr. van der Kolk: is director of the Trauma Center at Harvard University and one of the leading researchers and experts on trauma and its impact. He has published numerous books and articles, some of which are available on his website.

Dr. Charles Figley is a leading researcher and expert on trauma. He interviewed hundreds of soldiers after the Vietnam War and helped to establish the diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress. He has established journals which publish articles on innovative treatment techniques, and The Traumatology Institute which sends mental health professionals to provide free services at disaster sites. He has published numerous articles on trauma.
